I visited the headquarters of the American Aviation Historical Society (www.aahs-online.org) , a small office area in Huntington Beach, CA, crammed with photographs, books and publications of every conceivable American airplane (and more), while researching a noseart project. I found some wonderful folks intent on keeping our aviation history viable, accurate, and available to the public. After a while, I joined the Board, and volunteered to put events together and write articles.
Well, as usual, I jumped in with both feet – and opted to become President of AAHS this last February. Check out AAHS if you’re interested in well-written, accurate American aviation history, published via their website (www.aahs-online.org) and through the excellent JOURNAL magazine, published 6x yearly. I hope to to make AAHS material much more accessible to the public, and get this hidden treasure of an organization more visible to the public. More soon!…..
